C&D Plastic

Plastic from Construction and Demolition projects typically consists of packaging materials. Any plastic materials containing loose fluids or hazardous waste cannot be accepted for recycling. Please note that Styrofoam is also NOT ACCEPTED for recycling unless special arraignments have been made.

Reuse Options

MSU departments can submit a PURF to have the Surplus Store pick up large quantities of clean, reusable C&D plastic.

Where to Recycle C&D Plastic

Contractors or project leads wishing to participate in our Construction and Demolition Recycling Program are encouraged to contact MSU Recycling at (517)355-1723 or Recycle@msu.edu in order to plan the appropriate services and recycling containers for each project site.
