Examples of fixtures C&D flooring/furnishings include appliances, door, trim, draperies, furniture, HVAC systems, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, etc. Any fixtures/flooring/furnishings containing loose fluids or hazardous waste cannot be accepted for recycling.
If possible, it is best for reusable fixture/flooring/furnishings to be collected prior to or at the start of any Construction or Demolition projects. Reusable fixtures/flooring/furnishings are typically collected in Gaylords or are palletized.
Where to Recycle Fixtures/Flooring/Furnishings
Contractors or project leads wishing to participate in our Construction and Demolition Recycling Program are encouraged to contact MSU Recycling at (517)355-1723 or Recycle@msu.edu in order to plan the appropriate services and recycling containers for each project site.

Where Does It Go?
When designated for reuse, fixtures/flooring/furnishings are redistributed through the Surplus Store. When recycled, these items are collected and processed based on their material composition.
